HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM THE FROG!

Ella's first Halloween was a hit and she was the cutest frog on the planet! She wore her costume from morning to night and partied all day.

Apollo the football player

Ella's new thing is waving. She waves at everyone including herself in the mirror! It's so cute!

Ella wasn't scared of us. She thought our costumes were funny. Ella and Luigi.
It was Lola's birthday and we headed up to a birthday/costume party at The Gym in Layton. Lola LOVES Ella and was distracted from the singing in a circle portion of the party when we got there.

Ella was by far the smallest party-goer but that didn't stop her!

We later went to Jessica and Devin's Halloween party and I forgot to take pics. Which is a shame because I only took 1,000 of Ella for her first Halloween! She is such a good baby. I don't think she let out one whine or complaint all day! Which is pretty dang good on no sleep with a hot costume on for hours! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Little Miss Sassy Pants

*This post is more for journaling purposes so bare with me.

Little Ella has become quite independent with a sassy little personality. She wants to do what she wants to do and she'll let you know. She is Little Miss Grabby Hands and doesn't like it when you take things from her. She has all sorts of ideas about what she should be doing. I think it's funny as babies learn to use their hands more. She pushes things away that she doesn't want (including our faces). She continues to be the happiest baby ever. All you have to do is look her way and she'll smile. She LOVES Apollo. Every morning she'll giggle at him and reach for him. He never seems to be old news. When Ella is excited to see someone or excited about anything she kicks her legs like crazy. It's so cute! She's almost crawling and moves all over the place in funny little ways. Sometimes she tries to hop onto all fours. She mostly moves backwards and in a circle. Almost 9 months old with no sign of teeth. I guess that's good since I don't have to deal with the grumpiness of teething yet and she will have healthier teeth this way. I'm excited to see what her percentages are in a couple of weeks. I know she's small and I just love her petite chubby body! It's little and perfectly round and chubby! I just love to hold and squeeze her. I can't believe how much I love her. She gives big, open mouthed, wet kisses that I love. She's so sweet. Scott is on his deer hunt right now and missing her. He was hoping she didn't officially crawl while he was gone. Not many men get the opportunity to stay home with their kids on random weekdays, all day long, without mom around. I think this is a special thing and a great bonding opportunity for he and Ella. He is an equal parent to me and knows everything about her schedule, habits, etc. Ella sleeps pretty well at night now (although she will never sleep past 4 a.m.or 5 a.m. without waking up) and we have her on a pretty good nap schedule. She will still only take 2 one hour naps a day. One day her afternoon nap was for 2 hours and I was so excited!! I got so much done. Some babies need a lot more sleep than others and she truly does not need a lot of sleep. It's crazy. I've decided that she's like me in that she wants to be doing something all day and doesn't like to miss out. She's a busy body/social butterfly. She is a big people (and dog) watcher too. She doesn't miss a thing.
Ella attracts attention everywhere she goes. People seem drawn to her cute chubby face. I literally can't go anywhere without being stopped at least a couple of times.

Pics of us at the fair this year:

Too bad we don't take many pictures of her:

Wish I had her long, black, thick eyelashes!

Flaming Gorge and Final Vacation of The Summer!

For Labor Day Weekend we headed to Flaming Gorge with some of Scott's family. The weather ended up being great except for Sunday and we really didn't mind the rain. We rented a little A-frame pop up trailer so we had plenty of shelter. We boated, played games, went on walks, ate, and had a grand ol' time. Our anniversary was on Labor Day so we celebrated that as well. Scott snuck some really cute boots I wanted up to the campsite and we also went to dinner when we got home that night. Don't mind the big scratch on Ella's face in these pictures. She got herself good this time.

Walking around before being hit with a big rain storm! Ella was soaking wet but didn't seem to care!

Worst part of the trip? Right after this pic was taken my camera was dropped and broken! We need to get another one ASAP because I can't stand to not have a camera with Ella. If you have a compact digital that you love, let me know. We're not sure what to buy.

Sad that summer is pretty much over but I'm excited for the fall. That little chill in the air is nostalgic and makes me think of pumpkins, leaves, and Halloween. I'm so excited for Ella's first holidays as well! Christmas will be so fun this year.

Just For Kicks!

When Ella is really excited to see you she kicks her legs like crazy and it is the cutest thing ever! She does it when we come home from work and when she is fake crying in her crib and you walk in to check on her. I love it and had to catch it on video!

I discovered the coolest mobiles (with the help of Nat!) that you can hang anywhere in a child's room. They are called airflight mobiles and I was so excited because the way Ella's crib is you can't attach a mobile to it. I just wish I discovered these sooner because she has never had a mobile and she loves them! I found this butterfly one on Amazon and it is so cute!! I love it! I think they'd be cute in a child's room of any age. They move around when blown by air and they are so cool.

We decided to try out our Baby Einstein video and Ella LOVES it! Especially the bumble bee. She squeals and flaps her arms when he comes on. Here's a pic of her watching her new friends.

Ella is the happiest baby. All you have to do is look at her and she'll smile. I love it.

I'm flexible and cute!

Fun Summer Stuff

In July we went to the Kenny Chesney concert. It was HOT but really fun!

Sandi and Corey

No, we weren't close. That is a pic of the screen.

Scott and his mama.

This past weekend we went to Vernal. Ella turned 7 months old! Oh how time flies.
We also went to Red Fleet and went boating. It was funny because Scott's 15 year HS reunion just happened to be going on! The water was a chilly 73 degrees so I didn't think Ella would want to get in but we put her in and she loved it! When we got her out she literally passed out in her towell and fell asleep instantly. I was a little nervous that she was too cold! We had a lot of fun at the lake and even ran into some friends. Thanks for a fun weekend Char and Rusty!

And a couple of cute pics of the little one.

Camping & Bear Lake

Last weekend my family went camping and to Bear Lake. We wanted to camp in Bear Lake but nothing was available so we camped in Logan Canyon. Good times. It seems like I only see my family for a couple of hours at a time so it was good to spend the whole weekend together. The kids had a really fun time and Ella seemed to love camping as well! And we'll just say the dogs had the time of their life. My mom isn't really a camper so they stayed in a hotel in Logan and Saturday night they stayed in a bed and breakfast in Bear Lake that we bought for them for my mom's retirement/my dad's 70th b-day.

We bought this floaty for swimming but it was cloudy and the water was too cold to take Ella in the lake. So she slept in it for 2 hours! She NEVER sleeps that long during the day! I'm lucky with a half hour nap!

Logan had purple lips because of the cold water and lack of sun!
